Trains and railways

Our railways play a proud and significant part in our industrial heritage. Wales’s historic railway sites include the site of the first ever steam locomotive journey in Merthyr Tydfil and the glorious 185 year-old Ffestiniog railway in Snowdonia. The Welsh rail network offers spectacular, unrivalled views of our beautiful landscapes.
