Fine dining from home

St Valentine’s Day is usually celebrated with greetings, cards and romantic gifts, meals and days out. But with restrictions in place preventing dining out and travelling for a romantic day out, why not bring the romance to you this year?

Restaurants and businesses across Wales are offering different ideas, fine-dining experiences, luxurious meals and special treats that can be enjoyed from the comfort of your own home. Here are a few examples, with many others offering exquisite experiences to locals across Wales.

Current guidance asks people to stay home and not to travel, so if these places aren’t local to you, have a look at what some of the restaurants on your doorstep are doing.

Get your ingredients from Dylan’s, Menai Bridge, Anglesey

Although the popular restaurants in Llandudno, Menai Bridge and Criccieth are currently closed, Dylan’s has recently opened a shop next door to its restaurant in Menai Bridge, selling fresh local produce, daily essentials, baked goods, cakes, fresh vegetables and meats – as well as serving hot lunches and the restaurant’s extremely popular bake-at-home pizzas. You can pre-order your ingredients, ranging from Menai mussels or lobster, Pen Llŷn crab, fresh pizzas and dough balls, Edwards of Conwy meat and much more online, and arrange safe collection from the shop.  Dylan's Menai Bridge are now also offering a special takeaway menu once more, available to pre-order.

Cook up a delight with online recipes from Restaurant 1861, Abergavenny

A Michelin Star, 5 AA-Rosette gem, in mid-Wales, the popularity of Ynyshir’s Home Box dining experience last year has led to chef Gareth Ward reinventing the offer in 2021.

What’s more, this service is available for nationwide delivery each week! The box includes a three-course menu, with everything provided and just the finishing off to do at home. Boxes last for about a week after sending – and feature mouth-watering meals such as Shawarma Spiced Welsh Lamb and Sticky Toffee Pudding. Get ordering quickly - Ynyshir At Home Boxes.
