About Tyle Morgrug Cottage & Bunkhouse

The Tyle Morgrug Cottage & Bunkhouse is on the southern edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park in an area of outstanding natural beauty, rich in historic and industrial heritage. The area is dominated by the hump-backed mountains of the Brecon Beacons and is close to the world famous waterfalls of the Neath, Mellte and Hepste rivers. The refurbished, well equipped and comfortable centre is a typical Welsh hill farm and barn.
converted into bunkhouse accommodation in a splendid rural location.

The accommodation consists of 3 bedrooms, sleeping 8, 4 and 2, and a dormitory that sleeps 17. It also has a lounge with a wood burning stove, 4 showers, toilets and hand basins, and a drying room. The warden lives locally and prepares the centre for incoming groups, deals with any minor problems and checks the premises after groups leave. The centre is fully alarmed for fire and security. It’s suitable for adult and youth groups; from school parties busy with field studies to action packed outdoor activity groups looking for their next adventure or the more leisurely holiday party looking to relax and enjoy the tourist attractions the area has to offer.

The accommodation is centrally heated and double glazed throughout. Wi-Fi is provided free of charge. The cottage lounge has a wood burning stove. The adjacent multi-purpose room has a sink, microwave and fridge. The commercial kitchen is equipped with a 6 burner gas cooker, refrigerator, freezer, microwave oven, toaster and a full range of catering equipment and eating utensils. The dining room next to the kitchen can seat 30 people. Outdoors there is a bike wash area. There is also a BBQ and outdoor picnic tables. A small amphitheatre has also been created for relaxing.
You’ll need to bring a sleeping bag, pillow and mattress sheet, food and drink, wood for the wood burning stove, and any activity equipment you may need. You’ll also need to bring kitchen and toilet items such as washing up liquid, cloths, tea-towels, bin bags, matches, cleaning materials and toilet rolls.
