About Harbourmaster

A member of the Flatrock Group, The Harbourmaster Hotel is an independently owned boutique hotel, bar, and restaurant, renowned for its warm hospitality, exceptional food, and fine wine. Established in its current form in May 2002, it has won multiple accolades for service and dining, making it a standout destination on the Welsh coast.

Set in historic buildings dating back to 1811, the iconic blue Harbourmaster building was originally the home and office of the harbourmaster and remains a beloved landmark in Aberaeron. Today, the hotel spans three charming harbour-side buildings, blending contemporary design with the character and history of the town.

A key part of The Harbourmaster’s success is its talented team, many of whom are local, and whose dedication and passion have helped put Aberaeron firmly on the map as a must-visit destination.

Accommodation at the boutique hotel includes 11 individually styled rooms:

  • 7 original rooms in the former Harbourmaster’s residence, including the much-loved attic Madonna Suite, all with stunning views of the harbour or sea.
  • 4 spacious warehouse-converted rooms, featuring stylish bathrooms, comfortable sofas, and lift access, including the Aeron Queen Suite, with panoramic harbour views and a Juliette balcony.

Additional self-catering accommodation is available in our pink double-fronted cottage, just steps from the main hotel:
