Llys-y-frân Lake & Visitor Centre

Award winning Llys-y-frân Lake reopened in 2021 following a £4m refurbishment and offers a brand-new visitor centre with bright and airy café, gift shop featuring Welsh crafts and produce, cycle hire, mountain bike trails, archery, axe throwing, walking trails, water sports, climbing wall, adventure playground, Crazi-Bugz and fishing.

Outdoor activities at Llys-y-Frân Lake includes both water and land-based recreational fun. On the water, visitors can enjoy kayaking, canoeing and stand up paddle boarding. Fishing on the bank or by boat is available, permits are available to purchase online or in the visitor centre.

Land activities include walking, with many trails to choose from for all abilities. We are the only mountain bike centre in West Wales and have some excellent graded trails for keen mountain bikers. The impressive pump skills track allows cyclists to improve their skills, with a variety of jumps and tracks to master. Leisure cycling is very popular with over 14km of trails to explore and a wide range of bikes available to hire, including ebikes.

Along with walking and cycling, discover the art of axe throwing and have a go at archery, or why not scale our climbing wall? Kids will love the adventure playground and Crazi-Bugz, our six-wheeled off-road buggies for young adventurers.

Llys-y-frân occupies 350 acres of woodland, grassland and lake is a very special place in the foothills of the Preseli Mountains. The reservoir was opened in 1972 to supply clean water to Pembrokeshire but it has also preserved this landscape as a haven for nature and wildlife.

Lakeside Café is available for lunch and refreshments, open every day. Try one of the cakes or a dish from our seasonal menu.

Our large function room is ideal for parties, meetings, conferences, training days or group activity days.
