About Piggy Walk with a Pignic - Good Day Out

Forget swimming with pigs in the Bahamas. At Good Day Out, you can paddle with friendly pet Kunekune pigs in the Senni Valley, within Bannau Brycheiniog, also known as the Brecon Beacons National Park.

Piggy Walking is a small-group experience for animal lovers who would like to spend time outdoors in the company of a very characterful little walking companion. Join the pigs and their handler, who lives locally, for a gentle stroll through the scenic valley. The pigs enjoy walking, exploring and the occasional paddle, so expect plenty of stops to investigate the surroundings at their own pace.

Kunekune pigs are known for their steady temperament and large personalities. Their name means “fat and round”, so no one is pretending that these pigs are training for a marathon. The walks provide enjoyable interaction and support the pigs’ health and wellbeing, while giving visitors a chance to get close to the animals and learn more about their care and welfare.

With our Pignic session, after your walk you return to the smallholding for a Pig-nic, with tea, coffee and cakes. Tiny group sizes help keep the experience personal, relaxed and low-key, with knowledgeable and engaging trainers on hand throughout.

Piggy Walks run from April to October. They are mainly enjoyed by animal-loving adults, although quiet, animal-loving children aged over 10 are welcome, particularly on private walks. All Good Day Out experiences must be pre-booked, with dates available to book online. Undated gift vouchers are also available for birthdays, Christmas and other celebrations.

Good Day Out offers a range of animal experiences and activities in Mid Wales, around an hour’s drive from Cardiff. Alongside Piggy Walks, visitors can enjoy Dinky Donkey Picnic Walks and Sheep Dog Herding experiences. Bespoke group bookings and combinations of activities may also be available by arrangement.

Every Good Day Out participation supports an associated good cause, adding an extra feelgood element to the day. Visit the Good Day Out website to view available dates, arrange a gift voucher or enquire about a bespoke experience.
