About The Meadows Wildlife Park

The Meadows Wildlife Park is a not-for-profit wildlife park set within 21 acres of beautiful countryside in Caerphilly, South Wales. We offer a relaxed, hands-on day out where visitors can get closer to an exciting mixture of exotic wildlife and much-loved farm animals.

Our growing animal family includes capybaras, ring-tailed lemurs, cotton-top tamarins, meerkats, armadillos, prairie dogs, wallabies, lorikeets and a kookaburra, alongside reindeer, alpacas, llamas, donkeys, ponies, goats, sheep, miniature pigs, rabbits, guinea pigs and more.

Reptile fans can also discover a variety of fascinating species including snakes, tortoises, bearded dragons, iguanas and other reptiles and invertebrates.

There is plenty to explore throughout the park, with opportunities to enjoy interactive animal encounters and walkthroughs as well as simply taking in the peaceful countryside surroundings.

Families can meet and interact with some of our friendliest residents in our covered petting areas, including rabbits, guinea pigs and goats, while seasonal activities and animal experiences offer even more opportunities to get closer to the animals.

Capybara

Our lemur and wallaby walkthroughs allow visitors to step inside the animals’ habitats for a memorable up-close experience, while our colourful lorikeet walkthrough is another visitor favourite.

With plenty of outdoor picnic tables and benches, as well as covered areas offering shelter from the Welsh weather or shade on sunnier days, visitors are welcome to relax and make a day of their visit.

When it’s time for a break, our on-site coffee shop serves a selection of hot and cold drinks, cakes, snacks and meals.

We want The Meadows Wildlife Park to be welcoming to as many visitors as possible. An accessible toilet is located close to reception, and we continue to make improvements to pathways and facilities around the park to improve accessibility for wheelchair and mobility scooter users.

Whether you’re visiting for the capybaras, getting up close to the lemurs, meeting our farmyard favourites or simply enjoying a day surrounded by animals and countryside, there’s plenty to discover at The Meadows Wildlife Park.
