About Newborough National Nature Reserve and Forest

Newborough National Nature Reserve and Forest is on Anglesey, 13 miles by road from Bangor.

The sand dunes, coastal marshes, sandy and rocky shores have been shaped over thousands of years by the wind and sea and are home to an array of plants and animals.

Newborough Forest was planted to help stabilise the shifting sand dunes and is now home to red squirrels.

The estuary is a sanctuary for birds and other wildlife and there are extensive views over towards Yr Eryri National Park.
