There are so many reasons to visit Techniquest, the hands-on interactive science discovery centre in the heart of Cardiff Bay, with two floors of mind-boggling exhibits where you can launch a rocket, sink an oil rig, move half a ton of granite and still have energy for a spot of stargazing!
At weekends and during school holidays, be wowed by spectacular Science Theatre shows for all the family and take a journey through space for a close-up look at distant galaxies and exploded stars at the fascinating presenter-led shows in the 360° Planetarium.
There’s something to keep everyone entertained for a couple of hours or more, plus you’ll find puzzles, books, science kits and much more in Techniquest’s shop – the largest gift shop in the Bay. When it’s time for a break, take a seat in the coffee shop and choose from its wide selection of locally-sourced drinks, sandwiches and snacks.
Once you have your Techniquest wristband, you are free to come and go all day, so why not pop out for a stroll around the Bay and make your visit into a whole day out?
Techniquest welcomes public visitors throughout the year and is open at the weekend, on Bank Holidays and all week during school holidays (from 10am to 5pm). During school term time Techniquest is closed on Mondays and the opening hours from Tuesday to Friday are 9:30am to 4:30pm.
