About Stone Science

View one of the largest collections of fossils in Wales, study our dioramas which show how the Earth evolved and how dinosaurs came to be and then become extinct. You’ll also see thousands of minerals, crystals, fossils and even Native American arrowheads and weapons. And you don’t have to worry about the children touching things they shouldn’t – a lot of the exhibitions are meant to be touched and there are also videos for both children and adults to enjoy!

Our expert staff will also be on hand to offer any further help and information on the geological and archaeological exhibits.

Outside there is a picnic area with a safe area for children to run around.
In the gift shop attached to the museum we have many specimens available. For budding geologists there are fossils, minerals, dinosaur models. There are also stone crafts and jewellery if you are just looking for a more unusual gift. For the crystal healers there is an extensive range of crystal / crystalline specimens. For those of you interested in older man-made objects we have American palaeo-indian arrowheads, British worked flints, and much more. On sale are books describing the geology of Anglesey. We usually have second hand copies of Mediaeval Anglesey, Prehistoric Anglesey and Archaeologia Cambrensis volumes, plus a large range of other second hand books.

A warm welcome is extended to everyone including well behaved dogs.
