A Welsh Garden with a Dutch History, Cae Hir near Lampeter is one of Wales' best loved private gardens and is a remarkable demonstration of how ordinary can be made extraordinary simply by thinking outside the box. Cae Hir is a true garden with a difference. It is a family garden, an RHS Partner Garden and one of the founding members of the Great Gardens of West Wales.
Wander around and explore the FAMILY GARDEN, designed by the original founder Wil Akkermans and enjoy Julie's home baking in the top rated Tea Room and find an extensive range of plants for sale - all propagated by Stuart from the garden itself.
Y SIED TEA ROOM
The tearoom in Y Sied is open daily between 10am and 5pm and can be accessed and enjoyed without visiting the garden. Why not pop in for a bowl of soup or a cheeky slice of cake with coffee? The patio is the perfect place to sit and relax, maybe get some work done or enjoy an afternoon having a giggle with friends. Morning coffees to light lunches and afternoon teas will happily be catered for and there is indoor seating for up to 16, with plenty of extra space out on the patio.
The daily menu consists of a small selection of deliciously moreish cakes as well as cream teas made up of Julie's locally famous scones with proper strawberry jam and real clotted cream. The savoury option is a freshly made soup of the day served with a warm crusty roll and butter.
GROUP & COACH VISITS
Cae Hir welcome all manner of groups from local WI visits or Merched y Wawr mystery trips, to Garden Tours from around the UK and abroad.
