About Cae Hir Gardens

Cae Hir is a unique Welsh garden with a storied Dutch history - a true family garden of unassuming beauty. Trailing up five acres of hillside at the base of the stunning Cambrian Mountains, this Welsh garden’s bold mixing of perennials and wildflowers results in swathes of beautiful and natural colour, punctuated by moments of formality.

At Cae Hir, you can discover both formal and evocative, naturalistic planting - it’s a garden that’s not just for plant lovers but also a wonderful destination for garden design enthusiasts. Children love the acres of spaces to run and hide, while adults can sit and reflect or meander through the garden and regain their energy.

After experiencing the delights of this Welsh garden, relax in 'Y Sied', the garden's quirky tearoom to enjoy delicious home baked cakes, or browse the interesting plants available in Cae Hir’s own nursery. Cae Hir is a true garden with a difference. It is a family garden, an RHS Partner Garden and one of the founding members of the Great Gardens of West Wales.

Y SIED
The tearoom, Y Sied, is open daily between 10am and 5pm and can be accessed and enjoyed without visiting the garden. Why not pop in for a bowl of soup or a cheeky slice of cake with coffee? The patio is the perfect place to sit and relax, maybe get some work done or enjoy an afternoon having a giggle with friends. Morning coffees to light lunches and afternoon teas will happily be catered for and there is indoor seating for up to 16, with plenty of extra space out on the patio.

The daily menu consists of a small selection of deliciously moreish cakes as well as cream teas made up of Julie's locally famous scones with proper strawberry jam and real clotted cream. The savoury option is a freshly made soup of the day served with a warm crusty roll and butter.
