About Porthcawl - Rest Bay Beach
A new state-of-the-art water sports centre overlooks Porthcawl’s Blue Flag Rest Bay beach, and will provide the perfect base for adventure seekers eager to sample South Wales’ outdoor activity offering in 2020.
The centre also promises to benefit the local community, acting as a base for beach cleans and courses on environmental education, outdoor learning and ocean literacy. It will also act as a training centre for life guards and surf instructors and as the base for the Welsh Coast Surf Club.
The centre has been built thanks to £1.5m of EU funding via the Welsh Government’s Tourism Attractor Destination programme. This is a £61.9m programme launched by Visit Wales to create thirteen must-see tourist destinations utilising a total of £27.7m worth of EU funds.
Blue Flag beach. Toilets, café bar, parking. Lifeguard service provided 10:00 - 18:00 daily 25 May to 1 September & 7 - 22 September 2019 weekends only. No dogs allowed May to end September.
