About Llanfendigaid House
A Historic Welsh Estate by the Sea
The Llanfendigaid Estate has been in the Nanney-Wynn family, and their forebears, since records first began in AD 1241. An estate map from 1780 shows that it once stretched along the Welsh coast from Harlech in the north to Aberystwyth in the south. Following the decline of many great British estates in the 1920s, Llanfendigaid has gradually reduced to a smaller, idyllic corner of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, set on one of the most stunning stretches of the Welsh coastline.
Today, the estate offers 8 exceptional properties, along with a cosy Pod and Shepherd’s Hut, on the outskirts of Aberdovey. One property has recently been awarded Grade II* status by CADW, a rare honour reserved for historic houses of exceptional interest and quality. Three properties are rated 4 Star by Visit Wales, while The Cow Shed proudly holds a 5 Star rating. We’re also delighted to introduce two newly restored cottages, each sleeping three guests, now ready for booking.
Guests can enjoy an indoor heated swimming pool, table tennis, extensive gardens and grounds, and an abundance of outdoor space, all within walking distance of the sea. The Estate is ideal for families, couples, and large gatherings of up to 41 people, with dog-friendly accommodation available. For outdoor enthusiasts, hiking trails begin right on the doorstep, golf is available nearby, and the spectacular landscapes of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park are yours to explore.
