It is a wildlife haven and provides a wide range of activities, places to visit and sports particularly golf. The Penthouse is 5 mins drive from the Jack Nicklaus designed championship golf course at Machynys Golf and Country Club, there are a further 16 courses in a 30 mile radius.
It is easily accessed from the M4 motorway, there is 1 designated parking space with further visitor parking available. Bike storage sheds are available on site.
Beaches
As well as the sandy beach on the doorstep, the 7 mile long blue flag beach Cefn Sidan Sands, at Pembrey Country Park is 20 mins drive away. It is a 30-40 minute drive to the beautiful beaches of the Gower, which include Rhossili, Mewslade Bay, Three Cliffs Bay, Caswell Bay (our favourite) and Langland Bay.

Pembrey Country Park and Ski Centre, Sandy Water Park, the National Wildlife and Wetlands centre, the National Botanic Garden of Wales, Kidwelly Castle, Clyne Gardens, Singleton Park and Botanic Gardens, Aberglasney, Dylan Thomas Boathouse at Laugharne and 2 National Trust properties, Dinefwr and Dolaucothi Goldmines.
Activities
Pembrey Country Park has a dry ski slope, toboggan run, mini railway, nature trails, cycling and horse riding. The National Closed Road Cycling Circuit opened here in 2018.
Trostre Parc Shopping Centre is just 8 mins drive away.
Canolfan Pentre Awel, a new leisure centre, opened on October 15th 2025. There is a 25m swimming pool, small pool and hydrotherapy pool. There is a gym with smart tech and state of the art equipment, spin studio with Keiser bikes, 8 court sports hall and on-site cafe.
Indoor bowls is available in Llanelli at the Selwyn Samuel Centre and snooker at the Terry Griffiths Matchroom. There is a 5 screen cinema and theatre.
Paintballing is available at Culla park in Kidwelly.
Swansea Waterfront has a spectacular water based leisure centre with the UK's first standing surf machine, a thrilling ride called the Master Blaster, a lazy river, interactive pool, teaching lagoon, waterfall, water jets and fountains - the best water park around.
Also, in Swansea you can find indoor tennis, tenpin bowling and a multi-screen cinema -all good activities for wet days.
Sea and river fishing are available locally.
Folly Farm, great for younger children and Heatherton World of Activities are on the A48 leaving the M4 at junction 49.
Afan Forest Park is a popular destination for walking, cycling, and orienteering, it has mountain bike trails for all standards, M4 junction 47.
