About Elen, Brook Cottage Shepherds Huts
Settle in, light the fire and watch the mountains beyond the lake. Elen is a cosy, beautifully styled gypsy hut at Brook Cottage Shepherd Huts, our award-winning adults-only retreat on the Llŷn Peninsula. Full of character and thoughtful details, she’s a peaceful place to slow down and enjoy the beautiful North Wales landscape.
Elen combines the romance and character of a traditional gypsy hut with the comforts of a boutique stay. Inside you’ll find a comfortable double bed, private ensuite shower room, fully equipped kitchen and wood-burning stove - perfect for cosy evenings after a day exploring.
Outside, Elen has her own private seating area and firepit/BBQ, with wonderful views across our natural wildlife lake towards the Yr Eifl mountains. It’s a lovely spot for morning coffee, evening drinks, stargazing or simply watching the changing light over the landscape.
A peaceful place to slow down
Brook Cottage Shepherd Huts is home to just five individually designed huts spread across three private acres of fields, woodland and water. Even when every hut is occupied, the retreat feels peaceful and uncrowded, making it ideal for couples and solo travellers looking to slow down, switch off and spend time in nature without compromising on comfort.
Elen is one of our two pet-free huts, making her a lovely choice for guests who prefer pet-free accommodation.
Explore the Llŷn Peninsula
Tucked away in peaceful countryside near Pwllheli, Brook Cottage is perfectly placed for exploring the Llŷn Peninsula National Landscape and the wider landscapes of North Wales.
Spend your days discovering beautiful beaches and hidden coves, walking stretches of the Wales Coast Path, exploring coastal villages or enjoying the independent shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants around the peninsula. Llanbedrog, Abersoch, Nefyn, Porthdinllaen and Criccieth are all within easy reach, while the mountains and spectacular landscapes of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park make a wonderful day out.
The Llŷn Peninsula is known for its unspoilt coastline, wildlife, rich Welsh culture and outstanding scenery - perfect for walking, cycling, water sports, wildlife watching or simply finding a quiet beach and doing very little at all.
And after a day exploring, return to Brook Cottage, light the fire and watch the evening settle over the lake.
