About Pitton Cross Caravan & Camping Park

The Button family have lived on Gower for over 300 years. We first opened the campsite 1960’s, we are a quiet family park. Pitton Cross is only a mile from Rhossili Village and its beach, which is often voted “The Best Beach in the UK”. There is a large National Trust car park, a Public House, a couple of Cafes and Green Gallery just before the church.
In St Mary’s church was built in the Norman period and there is a memorial to Petty Officer Edgar Evans who was born in Rhossili village who went to the South Pole with Captain Scott.
The City of Swansea is only 16 miles away where you will find the National Waterfront Museum.
The scenic Welsh Coastline is approximately a mile in walking distance from your pitch. Ramsgrove Cove/Bay is good for rock pooling and crabbing.
Mewslade & Fall Bay for body boarding, buckets & spades and climbing. Rhossili Beach for climbing, surfing, walking, and to see the “Helvetia” Shipwreck which sits on the sandline on the Rhossili beach, after a severe storm on the 1st of November 1887 it was carrying 500 tonnes of timber is now where she lays.
