About Wrexham's St David's Day Festival 226

A brand-new two-day festival celebrating Welsh culture is coming to Wrexham city centre this St David's Day weekend, Gŵyl Dydd Gŵyl Dewi Wrecsam 2026 – Wrexham's St David's Day Festival taking place on Saturday 28 February and Sunday 1 March 2026.

Across the weekend, visitors can enjoy a curated artisan market featuring Welsh makers and food & drink producers from Wrexham, North Wales and across the country, alongside a dedicated food-festival zone hosting free bilingual workshops on traditional Welsh dishes and modern takes, plus tastings and street-food favourites.

Family programming will run throughout, with playful St David's Day-themed activities designed to celebrate Wrecsam/Wrexham identity and bring communities together.

What's on: Saturday 28 February (10am–4pm)

Queens Square, Queens Street & Chapter Court

Saturday will feature a full day of festival activity including:

• Outdoor artisan market packed with Welsh businesses and local producers

• Family entertainment and children's activities, including balloon modelling and face painting

• Welsh-language fun, including Welsh-medium Punch and Judy and Welsh storytelling

• Street food and artisan bakers

• Bilingual Welsh food workshops inside Chapter Court (suitable for adults and children)

• Live music on Queens Square, including a Welsh orchestra with 30+ musicians, plus bilingual performances from Megan Lee and Andy Hickie, a full Welsh set from Anglesey singer-songwriter Daf Jones, and a finale from Welsh covers band Six Ton Dog

• Welsh-inspired dance performances from a local dance school

Visitors will also have the chance to enter a free prize draw to win a large Welsh produce hamper, with entry forms available in participating Chapter Court shops and from selected market traders. Entries can be posted into the collection box at The Wrexham Hamper Company.

What's on: Sunday 1 March (10am–4pm)

Chapter Court

On St David's Day, the celebration continues indoors with:
