About Welsh International Tango Festival
The Welsh International Tango Festival returns to Swansea from Friday 27 to Monday 30 November 2026, bringing together tango dancers, teachers and musicians for a busy weekend at Swansea University's Singleton Campus.
Now in its eighth edition, the festival welcomes dancers of different abilities and offers plenty of opportunities to learn, practise and simply enjoy tango. Throughout the weekend there will be a programme of workshops led by visiting and local teachers, covering different styles and techniques.
The social side of tango is a big part of the weekend too. The programme includes a welcome milonga on Friday evening, followed by workshops and dancing on Saturday. One of the main highlights will be the Grand Milonga Ball, featuring live music and a hot buffet.
Sunday brings further workshops before a more relaxed Milonga Tea Dance, again accompanied by live music. There will also be a limited number of opportunities to book private lessons with some of the visiting teachers.
Whether you're an experienced tango dancer or simply looking to develop your skills, the festival offers several days of dancing, music and social events in Swansea. Advance booking is required, with no admission available on the day.
