National Eisteddfod Genedlaethol 2026

The 2026 National Eisteddfod of Wales (Eisteddfod y Garreg Las) will take place in Llantwd (Llandudoch), North Pembrokeshire, from 1–8 August 2026, celebrating the 850th anniversary of the first recorded Eisteddfod in 1176 in Cardigan.

This annual festival is Wales’ largest celebration of Welsh language and culture, bringing together performers, writers, artists, choirs, competitors and visitors from across Wales for a week of competitions, concerts, exhibitions, theatre, literature events, and community gatherings across music, poetry, crafts, and more.

The festival typically takes place in early August and alternates between north and south Wales each year; in 2026 the catchment area will include communities in south Ceredigion and west Carmarthenshire as well as Pembrokeshire, helping to connect local people with planning, volunteering and celebration efforts.
