Nantlle Ridge walking route
Chris Knight, author of award-winning blogging site 'Oh What a Knight', takes us on one of his favourite hikes in Eryri National Park. It's one of the remote, quieter corners of Eryri. If you're an experienced walker wanting to get away from the more popular peaks, it's well worth exploring.
Chris follows Crib Nantlle (Nantlle Ridge) along a challenging 11km (6.8 miles) path between Nebo and Rhyd Ddu, however you can do it the other way round if you'd prefer! It's a great introduction to ridge walking, and the trail includes scrambling, technical sections, and steep climbs and rocky descents. On a clear day, you can expect incredible 360 degree views across Eryri, Anglesey, the Llŷn Peninsula and down to the Ceredigion coast.
Summits along the route
Along the way you'll reach the summits of Garnedd Goch, Craig Cwm Silyn, Mynydd Tal-y-Mignedd, Trum y Ddysgl, Mynydd Drws-y-Coed and Y Garn.

How long does it take to complete the Nantlle Ridge walking route?
The walk can take between 4.5 – 8 hours to complete in one direction, depending on your fitness level.
Chris Knight"The views are phenomenal, the scenery is incredible, and best of all, I haven't seen a single person across the entire hike"

Useful information for hiking Nantlle Ridge
Chris recommends using two cars and dropping off a car at the opposite end if you're walking in a group. It is possible to travel between Rhyd Ddu and Nebo by bus, however you'll need to take two separate buses and change in Caernarfon, taking around 1 hour 20mins. Traveline Cymru can help plan public transport journeys.
