About Vale Of Rheidol Railway & Engine Shed Museum

The Vale of Rheidol Railway is a heritage narrow gauge steam railway running between Aberystwyth and Devil’s Bridge in Ceredigion, Wales. Opened to the public in 1902, it began life serving local industry and now offers a relaxed way to see the Rheidol Valley from the comfort of a classic carriage.

The journey takes you from the coast at Aberystwyth inland through wooded slopes and open valley views before arriving at Devil’s Bridge, known for its dramatic waterfalls. Back at the railway you’ll also find a café, shop and museum, making it easy to turn your trip into a full day out.
