About West Wales Maritime Museum

Based in Pembroke Dock, Hancock’s Yard is now the home of West Wales Maritime Heritage society.
A Living Museum to the boats and maritime history of Pembrokeshire and beyond.

We are a registered charity run entirely by volunteers who all share the passion for maintaining our maritime heritage. You will often see our members working on our exhibits.

We are a very hands on Museum and encourage children to try their hand at tying knots or take part in our museum quiz. There are many exhibits of model boats as well as full size vessels on display.
Our feature exhibit is the former Fishguard lifeboat, Charterhouse. She is being restored by our members to her former glory and has a fascinating history, being the first lifeboat in Wales to have been built with a petrol engine.

We restore, repair and operate a fleet of heritage boats, many of which you will see on the water taking part in the local regattas and the Pembroke River Rally which is run by the society each year. Check our website for dates and times. www.wwmhs.org.uk

Our flagship is the Tenby Lugger, Heritage, who is often sailed in the Haven by members.
She is a replica of the fishing boats used over 100 years ago in West Wales.

For our opening times, visit our website at www.wwmhs.org.uk or Facebook at West Wales Maritime Museum.
