About Porthkerry Country Park

Porthkerry Country Park is a 220-acre coastal park in Barry, where woodland, meadowland and a sheltered valley lead down to a pebble beach on the Vale of Glamorgan coast.

With woodland paths, open grassy areas, sea views and a children’s play area, it is a popular place for family time, gentle walks and getting outdoors. The park’s mix of landscapes means there is plenty to explore, whether you are looking for a short stroll, space for children to play, or a peaceful spot to enjoy the changing seasons.

Porthkerry is also well placed for a wider day out in Barry. Combine a visit with time at nearby Barry Island, explore more of the coast, or bring a picnic and spend longer enjoying one of the Vale’s best-loved green spaces.
