Sleeping up to ten guests in five individually styled bedrooms, the barn combines centuries of character with contemporary comforts, generous living spaces and thoughtful touches throughout. Original oak beams, welcoming interiors and beautifully furnished rooms create a home from home, while the private heated covered swimming pool, tennis court and extensive gardens offer something for every generation, whatever the weather.
Ysgubor Degwm is Visit Wales 5 Star graded and enjoys a wonderfully rural setting, yet is just four miles from Pwllheli, five miles from Criccieth and eleven miles from Abersoch. Beaches, coastal walks, harbour towns and the spectacular landscapes of Eryri (Snowdonia) are all within easy reach.
Living and dining
At the heart of the barn is a spacious, beautifully equipped country kitchen, designed for everything from leisurely breakfasts to celebratory family meals. An Everhot range, American style fridge freezer, additional fridge, dishwasher, Quooker boiling water tap, coffee machine and extensive cooking equipment make self catering a pleasure. The kitchen dining table seats ten.
The main lounge is a wonderfully characterful space with exposed beams, a vaulted ceiling and a wood burning stove. Comfortable sofas and armchairs provide plenty of room to gather, while the adjoining dining area seats twelve, perfect for long evenings around the table.
A separate snug offers another welcoming sitting room, with comfortable seating, an electric stove, smart TV, books and games. It's an ideal retreat for quiet reading, film nights or simply enjoying a little space away from the main gathering.

Bedrooms and bathrooms
The five individually furnished bedrooms are arranged across the barn's two wings, providing a comfortable and flexible layout for families and groups.
Bedroom One: A spacious master suite with a super king bed, private ensuite shower room, wardrobe, dressing area and comfortable seating, including a chaise longue.
Bedroom Two: A super king bedroom with views towards the coast, a dressing area and reading chair. The bed can be arranged as twins by prior request.
Bedroom Three: A characterful twin bedroom with countryside views, dressing area and armchair. The beds can be arranged as a super king on request.
Bedroom Four: A king bedroom with coastal views, wardrobe, dressing area and armchair.
Bedroom Five: A charming bunk bedroom sleeping two, with children's books, storage and a cosy window seat.
There are four bathrooms or shower rooms in total, including the master en-suite, a shared shower room, a family bathroom with a beautiful copper bath, and a further shower room conveniently located on the ground floor.
Quality white bed linen, towels, bathrobes and pool towels are provided.
Private swimming pool and outdoor activities
Outside, guests can enjoy extensive private grounds with beautiful lawns, mature gardens, an orchard and peaceful places to sit and unwind.
The private heated swimming pool is reserved exclusively for guests staying at Ysgubor Degwm. Measuring approximately 9 × 4.5 metres, the pool is enclosed beneath a fixed, transparent dome, providing a warm, sheltered swimming environment whatever the weather. With natural light, views across the gardens and poolside seating, it offers the comfort of an indoor pool while retaining a lovely connection to the outdoors. Perfect for a morning swim, family fun or a relaxing dip after a day exploring the Llŷn Peninsula.
There is also a full size hard court tennis court, with racquets and balls supplied, together with a basketball hoop, outdoor table tennis, badminton, croquet, boules, football goals and a selection of garden games.
An outdoor cinema creates a special setting for film nights beneath the stars.
Outdoor cooking and entertaining
The main garden patio is made for relaxed outdoor living, with dining for ten, a gas barbecue and wood fired pizza oven.
A separate, well equipped garden kitchen, opening directly onto the patio, includes an electric hob, oven, fridge, dishwasher and cooking equipment, making summer meals and entertaining wonderfully easy.
A second outdoor dining area beneath the orchard trees offers another lovely spot for breakfast, lunch or a quiet evening drink.
Thoughtful extras
We aim to make family holidays as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Younger guests are well catered for, with highchairs, a travel cot, children's books, toys and plenty of space to play.
Well behaved dogs are welcome by arrangement, making Ysgubor Degwm an appealing choice for holidays with the whole family.
A useful ground floor utility room includes a washing machine, tumble dryer, shower and WC. Private parking is available for up to six cars, and a selection of bicycles is provided for guests to use.
Guests are welcomed with homemade Welsh bara brith, a little taste of Wales to begin their stay.
