The Barn @ Nant Llwyd

The Barn at Nant Llwyd is in a delightful part of West Wales, near the top of Llanllwni Mountain adjacent to Brechfa Forest. The area is only now being discovered by enthusiastic cyclists and walkers, who may previously have overlooked the wonders of Carmarthenshire on route to Pembrokeshire.

The Barn is located five miles north of the town of Brechfa and offers accommodation to suit the discerning traveller. We’ve just completed an extensive refurbishment, and now offer accommodation for four people in two en-suite double bedrooms. Both en suites have power showers, and one also offers a bath to help ease aching muscles after a hard day in the hills. The rooms are light, airy and warm, with views of the surrounding countryside and wildlife. There is central heating throughout, boosted by underfloor heating in the kitchen area and a wood burner in the sitting room.

The fully equipped kitchen has hob, oven, fridge and microwave and its open plan allows the residents to relax in front of the fire, or sit at the dining room table. There is TV with free view box and DVD player. The large entrance porch has room for outdoor gear and adjacent is a utility room with a separate toilet, freezer, washer and tumble dryer, along with a Belfast sink for washing muddy boots and paws.

Despite our easy access to Brechfa, we are out of range for most mobile telephones, but we do have a satellite dish to provide wireless broadband. In cases of emergency, we have a landline in our house which can be made available to our guests.

There is car parking for two cars immediately outside the Barn’s main door and a small garden with terrace and lawn for enjoying the weather and wildlife.
