This is a sweet little cottage in a peaceful wooded valley above the traditional village of Maentwrog. The cottage has been attractively prepared with a warm and welcoming lounge which has a large inglenook fireplace housing a log fire. It is one of two attached cottages situated up a short well maintained drive 500m from the village centre. Attractive valley views can be appreciated from the gardens of the cottage especially in the upper rear garden where there are some garden furniture. Maentwrog village situated on the edge of the river Dwyryd. The Village of Maentwrog has a mythalogical past; it is mentioned in the 'Mabinogion' (a book filled with traditional Welsh stories). You can judge for yourself whether the stories are true but the stone (in Welsh, 'Maen') thrown by the giant 'Twrog' can be seen in the village church grounds. There is a homely village inn and is within walking distance (15min) and the Ffestiniog steam train station of Tan y Bwlch. Porthmadog town is only 9 miles for shops, leisure centre, beaches etc. Harlech (9 ml) for an impressive castle, antique shops and amazing views of Snowdonia.
10 minutes from the Downhill Mountain bike trails, Zip World Titan and Bounce Below in Llechwedd Slate Caverns, Ffestiniog. The cottage is also 15 minutes from the mountain bike centre in Coed y Brenin.

Two bedrooms: One double bedroom, one twin bedroom with two singles - one of those single comes with a pull out (2' 6") that can be put together to make an Austrian double. Linen and towels are provided and beds made.
Bathroom with WC and electric shower over the bath, downstairs.
Lounge/diner is a lovely room with large stone inglenook fireplace housing a logburning stove. New sofas this year! Plus Freeview TV, Radio, CD player and DVD.
Newly refurbished kitchen units (April, 2015), electric cooker, fridge, microwave, freezer and washing machine.
Enclosed terraced garden to rear with patio furniture and floral garden to the front.
Parking for 2 cars by the cottage.
Night storage heaters throughout.
Electricity is included May to September. £25 included October - April. Logs available at extra charge from owner.
Extra: Travel cot and highchair available.
Sorry, no pets.
FAQ: There is no caravan park nearby. The caravan hire logo on Google maps is someone in the village who just hires their touring caravan.

We strongly recommend that you take our Cancellation Protection (see Terms & Conditions). This has already been selected for you when you book, so simply de-select them on the bookings screen if you already have holiday insurance or if you do not want any cover.

The Pet Charge for all properties accepting pets is £20 per pet.

No Smoking: We want all our guests to enjoy an odour free environment when they arrive at their property. We therefore prohibit smoking within the premises in ALL our properties. A 'Refreshing Charge' will be levied on guests who smoke in properties. A No Smoking Policy may form part of a property's statutory Fire Risk Assessment.

Mini-breaks & Weekends: Bookings that are for less than 7 nights are only bookable within 21 days (some properties are within a different amount of days) of the start date of the holiday. Weekend booking requests that do not start or end on a property's usual change-over day or cross over more than 1 week, are at the discretion of the property owner.
