Welcome to 16 Freshwater Bay, a charming New England-style holiday home in Trewent Park, just 200 metres from the beautiful, dog-friendly sands of Freshwater East Beach.
Designed with a relaxed shabby-chic coastal feel, we hope you'll feel as though you've been invited into a much-loved family beach house. Throughout the property you'll find quirky artwork, thoughtful touches and little treasures collected over the years, creating a warm and welcoming home-from-home atmosphere.
The house comfortably sleeps up to six guests across three bedrooms: a twin room, a double room and a spacious king-size master bedroom with en-suite shower room. There's also a family bathroom upstairs and an additional shower room downstairs, giving you plenty of space for families and groups.
The well-equipped kitchen has everything you need for a relaxing self-catering holiday, including a fridge-freezer, double oven, microwave, slow cooker and plenty of cookware and utensils. For those special family meals, you'll even find vintage china in the lounge dresser and outside plastic sets offered for alfresco dining.
After a day exploring the coast, settle down in the cosy lounge with a Smart TV, where you can log into your own Netflix, Disney+ and other streaming accounts. Sky TV and fast Sky broadband are also included, with excellent coverage throughout the house. A smart TV is also in the master bedroom (not Sky).
Families are particularly welcome. You'll find books, games, DVDs and a few surprises for younger guests in the twin room, along with a highchair and travel cot (please bring your own cot bedding – sizing details are available on our website).
We know holidays are wonderful with four-legged friends, so up to two dogs are welcome (more by request). Dog towels and waterproof throws for the settees are provided, and the wraparound shingle garden offers a convenient outdoor space for quick comfort breaks. We simply ask that dogs stay downstairs and are not left unattended in the house if possible.
We are one of the few houses at the front of the park with a wraparound garden laid to shingle for the pooches to have a wee, and we have a patio with table and chairs, and a shed that can house bikes, but also has spare chairs, beach chairs, windbreaks etc., for families to enjoy.
There's a patio with table and chairs as well as a lovely sun deck, while the shed provides storage for bikes and often contains useful beach equipment such as chairs, windbreaks and other family-friendly extras. There's even a handy pull-along shopping trolley that's perfect for transporting everything to and from the beach. Please tidy them once used and please be aware these are often left behind by other families and we are not responsible for their upkeep.
One of the things guests love most is the location. Freshwater East is ideally placed for exploring some of Pembrokeshire's most spectacular scenery. The Pembrokeshire Coastal Path is right on your doorstep, while nearby attractions include Stackpole, Barafundle Bay, Freshwater West, Bosherston Lily Ponds, Tenby and Pembroke Castle. Please be aware that some beaches do have dog restrictions in the summer months like Saundersfoot, and three of the Tenby beaches. We love ours, and Angle, Freshwater West, Manobier and Broad Haven South that have no restrictions.
For food and drinks, Jack's at The Longhouse sits next door. It's a friendly local pub and restaurant that is usually quiet in the evenings, though occasional events can add a little extra atmosphere if you'd like to join in. Out of season its usually closed Monday and Tuesdays. Always book beforehand as it's really popular.
Whether you're looking for beach days, coastal walks, family adventures or simply a peaceful place to unwind, 16 Freshwater Bay is the perfect base for your Pembrokeshire escape.
We can't wait to welcome you.
