This place is an amazing affordable option for people who love hiking or riding bikes. The accommodations are great and well thought out. Couldn’t recommend it more!
Choose your cabin or stay in your van
The cabins are designed for comfort, practicality and adventure. There are 5 cosy cabins to choose from, all with a 4ft wide (small double) bunk bed, heaters and bike storage. The original cabins also have a single camp bed. There is also space for 1 or 2 small campervans.
We had a wonderful 2 night stay at the roost. The rooms are comfy and the kitchen has everything you need. Felt really secure and safe - will be back.
Brilliant for bikers and hikers
Given our proximity to BikePark Wales, the Taff Trail (cycle route 8) and the National Park, The Roost has secure in-cabin bike/gear storage, a bike wash, maintenance stand with tools and a drying room. And there are the all-important big comfy beds and lovely hot showers.
Fun for families
Kids love the Roost! The small, gated site means they can roam free and the guest store/honesty shop is stocked with board games, ball games, ‘pick & mix’ and marshmallows. Plus, the well equipped kitchens and BBQs make feeding them easy.
Dog friendly
Dogs are very welcome at the Roost. They can roam free too, and the guest store is stocked with spare poop bags, dog bowls and even treats.
Travel by train
The village train station, Troedyrhiw, is just a 5 minute walk away with direct connections to Cardiff and beyond. Why not bring your bike on the train?
