About Hafan Y Mynydd

A glamping experience like no other designed for wheelchair users and autistic families. With no close neighbours, 1.8m high fencing and stunning Mountain Views you can feel safe and secure whilst enjoying a great expanse of fields and mountains in our Accessible double shepherds’ huts. We are very dog friendly and provide a welcome pack for them and their owners.

Access is via a ramp through a wide glass sliding door, into the living / kitchen area, in here you’ll find:

A roll under sink and induction hob, fridge freezer, microwave oven, slow cooker, mini 2L Air fryer, and hand blender, plus a whistling kettle to use on the hob.

2x riser recliner chairs with drop arms for easier transfers or dogs also enjoy spreading across the two, plenty of space in front of chairs (1.5m) if guests who use wheelchairs would like to sit there or next to the recliners.

From the living area there is a choice of rolling through into the back bedroom hut or into the large wet room.

The Large wet room (2m x 2.8m / 6ft 6 x 9ft) has sleek black grab rails throughout. The toilet has a optional wash and dry function toilet seat or can use the flush button as a standard loo. The loo is transferable either side with a pull-down horizontal grab rail on both sides. These are a permanently attached to the wall.

A luxurious rainfall shower with a choice of folding shower seat with arms and legs with movable shower head and controls within reaching distance or self-propelled shower commode wheelchair with optional chest straps, there is a grab rail in the shower.

a lowered sink is on the opposite wall to the shower, with mirror above, either side of the mirror is a vertical grab rail. Hooks are at both standing height and wheelchair height, wetroom bin is touch free. Squeegee brush, shower gel and shampoo provided plus welsh handmade guest soaps.

In the bedroom hut through the hallway there are a choice of beds:

Dual electric king size bed with a super king size duvet. The bed is accessible on one side as standard, but can be made accessible on both, to those with one wheelchair less than 70cm wide.

There is a single profiling bed: the mattress lowers to 45cm up to 80cm, the feet can go higher than the head and vice versa, it is also possible to be flat, and bring the bed up so one is sitting up, and bring the legs up. Optional full length side rails and bumpers with a double duvet to provide additional comfort.

Both beds have a gap underneath to allow guests to bring a mobile hoist and are 50cm from the floor to top of the mattress. New for autumn 2025 the choice to use a Birdie 180kg mobile hoist for guests to use free of charge.

The last bed choice is a custom designed sensory pod bunk beds, which in the future will have a safe space within the lower pod when not in use it's set up as an Additional play space, with Z-foam mattress as a chair and soft play mat on the floor - soft play balls available and a range of sensory gadgets and board games. Both pods have twinkle lighting in the ceiling, electric sockets and sliding doors ideal space for teenager or those who need a calm space to relax in. The lower pod is 45cm from floor to top of mattress.

The top pod is designed for able-bodied adult carers in mind. The pod can be used to create their own private space, but can keep a close eye nearby, equally it can be used for an older child.

Outside the huts is a cold-water tap, and slow charge EV charger.

The water in the huts and outside tap come from our private mountain spring water supply, filtered for your use.

We welcome guests to come help feed the pigs, and during spring we have orphaned lambs to cuddle and bottle feed.
