Dog-friendly attractions in North Wales

Among the many dog-friendly things to see and do on Ynys Môn (Anglesey) in North Wales, is the family attraction Foel Farm Park. Meet and feed the animals, enjoy the farm walk and if you opt to take a tractor and trailer ride, rest assured dogs can ride on the tractor too!

All Zip World sites across Wales are dog-friendly, and while you can’t take your dog with you on the zip line ride, both the Penrhyn Quarry and Llechwedd sites have doggy day care available if booked in advance.

Dog-friendly attractions in Mid Wales

In Mid Wales, take a trip on Aberystwyth’s dog-friendly Vale of Rheidol Railway. Hop aboard the historic narrow-gauge steam railway to enjoy the spectacular scenery on the route to Devil's Bridge waterfalls, which is also dog-friendly.

Dogs on leads are welcomed at Corris Craft Centre in all of the individual craft studios except for the Chocablock Studio. They are also welcome in The Corris Cafe and the Welsh Deli. 

For fantastic day out, or short break for the whole family, including your dog, head to Cantref Adventure Farm situated in the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park. There's a wide range of activities for all ages, including hands-on animal encounters, indoor play zones and outdoor activities. There's also cosy dog-friendly accommodation on site, ranging from camping and glamping, to cottages with wood-fired hot tubs. Staying in any of the accommodation options gives guests free entry to the Farm Park too.

Dog-friendly attractions in West Wales

You’ll find plenty of dog-friendly adventures to be had in West Wales.

Visit the beautiful National Botanic Garden of Wales on one of their ‘doggy days’ to walk around the 568 acres of rolling countryside and explore the heritage landscape parkland. 

Exploring the dog-friendly Pembrokeshire coast with your four-legged friend is fantastic, with its glut of dog-friendly sandy beaches. You can even take a day trip from Dinbych-y-pysgod (Tenby) Harbour or Castle Beach to Caldey Island with your furry friend, as the island welcomes well behaved dogs on a lead.

Dogs are welcome on the lead at Margam Country Park, as there are deer. There's a dog agility area, where dogs can run, jump, play and explore off-lead.

Dog-friendly attractions in South Wales

There are plenty of great locations for dog walks in South Wales and there are lots of dog-friendly things to see and do in our capital, Caerdydd ( Cardiff). In the heart of the city explore the grounds of historic Cardiff Castle with your dog. The extensive Bute Park, which is adjacent to the castle is also perfect for dog walks and games.

On the outskirts of the city, you can discover a wealth of Welsh history on a visit to the open air dog-friendly St Fagans National Museum of History.

Further afield in the Wye Valley, the historic village of Tyndyrn (Tintern) is particularly dog-friendly, with pups made welcome in most shops and eateries. Dogs are also welcome in the grounds of the impressive medieval ruins of Tintern Abbey.
