One of Wales’ most iconic leisure rides

The Mawddach Trail is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful cycling routes in the UK. Running along a disused railway line, it provides a flat and accessible path through the heart of southern Eryri.

Starting in Dolgellau, the route follows the Mawddach Estuary, offering ever-changing views of mountains, water and woodland. The surface is well maintained, making it suitable for a wide range of bikes, including children’s bikes and hybrids.

The route finishes at Barmouth, where cyclists can cross the historic railway bridge or take in views of the coast. Its combination of accessibility and scenery makes it a standout choice for a relaxed cycling experience.
