A gentle ride along the Menai Strait

Lôn Las Menai offers a simple but highly enjoyable cycling experience along one of North Wales’s most scenic coastal corridors. Starting in the pretty village of Y Felinheli, the route follows the shoreline before heading towards Caernarfon, with frequent views across the Menai Strait.

Views along the Lôn Las Menai route.

The route is easy to follow and largely flat, making it ideal for relaxed cycling at your own pace. At both ends of the route there's a choice of cafes, restaurants and pubs offering some of the best views in Wales!

Arriving in Caernarfon, you can take time to explore the town, including the famous Caernarfon Castle and waterfront. 

For many riders, this is also the starting point for continuing further along the Lôn Eifion route, creating a longer, largely traffic‑free route through North Wales. Together, they offer a continuous ride from the Menai Strait to the edge of Eryri
