Harry Morgan of the running themed YouTube channel and Podcast Jog On, set out to explore the best of North Wales in a weekend packed with scenic runs, cultural highlights, and adrenaline-fueled activities. Here’s where he went—and how you can follow in his footsteps.
Step back in time at Castell Biwmares (Beaumaris Castle)
Harry began his trip on Anglesey, exploring the magnificent Castell Biwmares (Beaumaris Castle), a UNESCO World Heritage Site with stunning views over the Menai Strait.
After working up an appetite exploring, he recharged at the Red Boat Ice Cream Parlour, and enjoyed an evening meal at the Midland Tapas. Overnight accommodation was at the historic Bull Inn in Beaumaris.

Run the UK’s most scenic Parkrun
Up early the next day, Harry took on the Newborough Forest parkrun, describing it as 'the most scenic Parkrun in the UK'. The route for the weekly race follows a 5k (3.1 mile) forest trail through calming native woodlands and opens onto sweeping views of the coast.
Relax with a seaweed bath at Halen Môn
Next stop: Halen Môn, famous for its Anglesey sea salt and unique seaweed baths. Perfect for soothing tired muscles after a run.
Lunch with a view at Dylan’s Menai Bridge
Following lunch at Dylan's Menai Bridge, a waterfront restaurant serving fresh local produce with spectacular views.
Wildlife adventure on the Menai Strait
Harry joined an exciting RibRide wildlife spotting trip along the Menai Strait to Ynys Seiriol (Puffin Island). Expect seals, seabirds, and breathtaking coastal scenery.

Laser show at Caernarfon Castle and stay at the Celtic Royal Hotel
Following a meal at contemporary Welsh restaurant Wal in Caernarfon, a unique venue with parts of the ancient town walls threading through the building, Harry headed to Castell Caernarfon (Caernarfon Castle) to watch an incredible laser show projected onto the castle walls - a magical end to the day. He then enjoyed a comfortable overnight stay at the Celtic Royal Hotel in Caernarfon.

Trail running in Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park
The next morning, Harry tackled a 10 mile circuit around Llanberis, taking in the dramatic landscapes of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park. This is trail running at its finest!
