About Clearwell Caves - Ancient Iron Mines

An atmospheric and mysterious natural cave that has been mined for iron ore and ochre pigments for over 4,500 years. Nine impressive caverns for visitors to explore, descending 100ft underground. Mining and geological displays throughout, educational and fun. Adventure caving and guided tours for pre-booked groups. Gift shop, cafe, free parking.
In December the caves are transformed into the 'Christmas Fantasy' spectacular. See website for other events through the year.
