About Rob Piercy Gallery

The building was converted into an art gallery in 1986 having previously been an old waterboard wharehouse. The gallery features a large selection of Rob Piercy watercolours, limited edition and open edition prints as well as a large selection of greeting cards of his work. There is also a fine display of unique craftwork and jewellery.

A member of the Royal Cambrian Academy and the Watercolour Society of Wales, Rob Piercy- has been painting professionally since the early eighties. He trained as an art teacher and taught up to 1989, when he left to concentrate solely on his painting. A member of the Alpine Club of Great Britain he is also an experienced mountaineer having climbed throughout Europe. Naturally his favourite subject matter are the mountains and in particular his native Snowdonia, he is now recognised as one of the United Kingdom's premier mountain painters and has work in public and private collections throughout the world.
He has exhibited his work in several prestigious competitions throughout the United Kingdom, most notably in the Singer and Friedlander / Sunday Times Watercolour Competition where his work has been regularly accepted for exhibition.

In the year 2000 he was shortlisted for the £20,000 Garrick Milne Art Prize. He also became Welsh Artst of the Year in 2002. In 2008 Rob published his first book - The Snowdonia Collection.
