About Bicycle Beano Cycling Holidays
The unspoilt countryside of Wales is a cyclist's paradise with dramatic seascapes, rugged mountains, picturesque villages and lush green valleys – criss-crossed by a maze of peaceful lanes with hardly a car in sight.
Bicycle Beano organises group cycle tours, staying at a fixed location for a long weekend or a whole week. Each day we arrange a moderately-paced 35- to 40-mile cycle ride, returning to the same venue every evening. Short cuts and longer detours are available on most days, so you can choose how far you ride – anything from 30 to 60 miles depending on how you feel. everyone gets route directions and maps so you can cycle at your own pace - there's no need to chase after a "leader".
Specially designed maps and route sheets allow you to cycle at your own pace, either with a group or on your own if you prefer. We all meet up at lunchtime hostelries and afternoon tea stops; and perhaps to explore a historic site, admire a view, or go for a swim.
Each Bicycle Beano is based at a brilliant venue - for instance we've stayed at a medieval manor house, a Georgian mansion, converted barns and a comfortable eco-centre with its own lake and the best view from a bike shed ever!
Ace cooks provide delicious vegetarian cuisine. You don't have to be a vegetarian to enjoy a Beano, lots of non-veggies keep coming back because they like our food (meat and veggie meals are available at the lunch stops).
