Ty Glan yr Afon is situated in the picturesque and scenic valley of Cwm Hirgwm, above the small village of Bontddu, and is in fact the owner's old family home. It is approx. 1 mile from the village, and approx. 5 miles from the nearest towns - Barmouth on the west coast, and the market town of Dolgellau to the east. The surrounding area is famous for its gold-mining activity, though now closed, the mines in their heyday were an important source of employment.
There are stunning views of the surrounding countryside and mountains, and there are plenty of walks - some right from the doorstep! Ty Glan yr Afon is also the ideal base from which to tour north and mid Wales - most of the major attractions for these areas are within an hour's drive away.
