About Tan Y Bryn

Tan y Bryn is a Grade II listed holiday cottage, in the tranquil village of Corris, nestled against the wooded hillsides of the Dyfi Forest. It is midway between Machynlleth & Dolgellau and provides easy access to the hills and mountains of southern Snowdonia, an area of outstanding countryside, rich in wildlife, natural history and industrial heritage. It has Wi-Fi and is pet friendly, welcoming up to 2 dogs free of charge. A welcome tray with a traditional homemade Bara Brith and a free basket of logs are provided for guests at the start of their holiday.

Newly decorated throughout in traditional Farrow & Ball colours, the cottage is comfortable and stylish, retaining some beautiful original features. It is well appointed providing everything you need for a comfortable stay. Accommodates up to 4 people, in one king and one twin bedroom, where solid oak beds and high-quality white cotton linen provide for a restful night's sleep.

On the ground floor there is the cosy living / dining room which has a 2-seater sofa, armchairs, pouffe, rustic dining table and chairs, smart TV, woodburning stove and book shelves with local information and interesting reading material. The kitchen is fully equipped with quality bespoke units, full sized fridge / freezer, electric oven and hob, microwave, coffee maker, dishwasher and a washer / dryer.

On the first floor, there is the master and twin bedroom and a bathroom with a walk-in shower and heated towel rail. Towels are provided. Each bedroom has an original feature fireplace, antique armchairs, bedside lights, lamps and artwork.

The cottage has private parking and a garden area nearby (200 yards away) where there is also a garage for secure storage of bikes, kayaks, roof box etc. The garden has a table and chairs and picnic equipment is provided should guests wish to enjoy drinks and nibbles outside.

Tan y Bryn provides an excellent base for outdoor adventures, including walking, cycling, mountain biking, wild swimming or for just escaping from the hustle and bustle of daily life. There is an excellent organic café and real ale pub a minute's walk away.

You don't have to go far to enjoy some of the local attractions. For railway enthusiasts there is the Corris Railway Museum and steam train experience. Families can enjoy a day out at the Corris Craft Centre and King Arthur's Labyrinth, both within walking distance from the cottage. A few miles away there is Centre for Alternative Technology and MOMA (Museum of Modern Art). For beach lovers, the seaside towns of Aberdyfi and Tywyn are only a short drive away.
