About Swallows Nest, Gordy Hall

The Swallows’ Nest is a newly converted barn on a smallholding, two miles from the Atlantic Ocean. The cottage’s central location on the Dale peninsula, whilst being in the heart of the countryside, provides convenient access to beautiful beaches, offshore islands (with their wonderful wildlife) and Pembrokeshire National Park’s beautiful 186 mile coastal path.

Broad Haven (2 miles) is a popular beach for bathing, rockpooling, surfing and recreation, and has a range of places to eat, a convenient mini market and other services. Little Haven (2.4 miles) is a picturesque little cove with pubs, restaurants, a café, gift shop and a lot of charm. It is a popular spot for mackerel fishing and at low tide it is possible to walk along the beach to Broad Haven.

Swallows’ Nest is 4.5 miles to the historic market town of Haverfordwest, which now hosts a farmers’ market and other more modern services, including supermarkets, shopping centres, large leisure centre, library and golf club. It is 9 miles from the Cleddau bridge which takes you to South Pembrokeshire, with more beaches, castles and attractions.

But if you want to just relax and enjoy the cottage, you have very comfortable accommodation, outside areas to enjoy, and our small heard of alpacas to gaze at.

Swallows’ Nest sleeps 4 in 2 bedrooms. The cottage is a single storey, two bedroomed detached dwelling, created for comfort and convenience. It has been renovated and equipped to a high standard, and decorated simply to bring in as much light to the building as possible, with paintings and prints of Pembrokeshire hung in every room.
Bedroom 1 has a kingsize double bed, chest of drawers, dressing table, wardrobe, and bedside cabinets. It has its own bathroom and toilet. There is a small extra TV for use in one of the bedrooms.

Bedroom 2 has a standard double 4’6’’ bed, with the optional use of a single folding bed if two people wish to sleep separately (This folding bed is good quality, but most suitable for a child or a teenager). It also contains chest of drawers, hanging rail, full length mirror, bedside cabinets and an en-suite shower and toilet.

The living area consists of a large open plan lounge, dining and kitchen area, oak floored. The newly fitted kitchen includes dishwasher, washing machine/tumbler dryer, electric hob, cooker and microwave.

The lounge area has a log burner, two settees and a chair TV, DVD player and CD player with radio. The dining area has a dresser and table and chairs for four people.

WiFi connection is free of charge. There is a good stock of games, DVDs, fictional books, local history books and maps etc.

Outside
The cottage is southwest facing with an enclosed and gated area with terrace, fronting the cottage with parking for two cars, table chairs and parasol. A gas barbecue is available for guests’ use. There is access to a garage for bikes, boards, etc. A fenced lawned area is also available for recreation. A small herd of alpacas on the smallholding is interesting to gaze at.
