About Swallows Cottage

Swallows was tastefully converted from a former farm building that is adjacent to our own home. It has oak woodwork throughout, is centrally heated, and is furnished and equipped to a high standard. It has three good-sized bedrooms, two upstairs sharing a bathroom and one downstairs with an en-suite shower room. There is a good-sized kitchen and large loung-diner downstairs, and it also benefits from a separate utility/wc.

We are less than 1.5 miles from the the unspoilt coastal village of Manorbier, with its lovely sheltered beach, 12th century castle, attractive church, villageshop/post office, garage, tea-room, hotel, and public house. The Pembrokeshire coastal path runs through the bay and provides some magnificent coastal walks. In addition numerous sandy beaches and the towns of Tenby and Pembroke are just a short drive away.

There is a bus stop at the top of the drive. Manorbier is served by a Railway Station.

Well behaved pets are welcome.

The accommodation comprises of

Bedroom with five-foot bed, bedside cabinets with lamps and clock radio/alarm, dressing table, built-in wardrobes. Fully-tiled en-suite shower-room, mirror and shaver point. Both rooms have fitted carpet.

Lounge/Diner with French window doors opening to front aspect. Fitted carpet and furnished with three-piece suite, easy chair, dining table and chairs, dresser, coffee table and fireplace with coal-effect electric heater. Complete with television (benefits from Sky Freeview as well as terrestrial channels), video/DVD player, mini cd/cassette/radio.

Kitchen fully fitted and with tiled floor. Equipped with electric cooker, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle, and toaster. Comprehensive range of china, glass, pots, pans, cutlery and utensils. Cupboard with cleaning equipment, iron.
Utility/cloakroom has tiled floor and is equipped with washing machine, tumble drier, ironing board, oil-fired boiler, w.c. and basin.

Tiled entrance hall. Carpeted staircase to upstairs landing.

Two bedrooms both with oak floor and rugs. One has twin three-foot divan beds, the other has a five-foot bed. Each has a wardrobe, chest(s) of drawers, bedside lights. Double room has dressing table. Each bedroom is equipped with a clock radio/alarm and hair dryer. Both enjoy rural views.

Bathroom - fully tiled. Bath with shower over, washbasin, w.c, shaver-point, and mirror.

A Cosato cot is provided (linen not included), and is suitable for a child to 25Kg.

All bed linen is included (other than for the cot). Each bed has a choice of two alternative tog duvets, and a blanket or throw.

Bath, hand, and tea towels, tablecloth, shower, toilet and bath mats are provided and these are included in the rental charges.

Well-behaved pets are welcome by arrangement at no extra charge but no more than two dogs please.

Oil and electricity are metered and charged at the current domestic rates, payable on departure.

Regretfully, we are not able to accommodate smoking in Swallows.

The properties are approached via a well-maintained gravel track some 400m in length. Slade is a non-working farm with most of the land left to rough pasture. The edges of the fields are regularly topped and can be safely walked around with or without dogs. The area in front of the cottage & outbuildings is maintained as lawn for the use of our guests. A garden seat provides the opportunity to enjoy the pleasant views down the valley. Swallows has an outside picnic table. BBQ and wind-breaks also provided.

Parking is within 10m of the property and cars can be parked temporarily for unloading immediately by the front door if necessary.

There is good reception for Orange & Vodafone users, variable for others.
