About The Lodge

The Victorian Lodge, in the grounds of Abergavenny Castle, offers plenty of space and privacy.

On the ground floor, are two sitting rooms, both with an open gas fire and writing desk and the other (with a flatscreen TV), leads into the kitchen. The Lodge sleeps four people in two en-suite king bedrooms, on the first floor, up a narrow staircase. The bedrooms feature iron bedsteads and the en-suite's have Aromatherapy Associates bathroom amenities. At the rear of the Lodge is a small, secluded patio and surrounding the property are the extensive grounds of Abergavenny Castle, offering superb views of the Usk Valley and the surrounding mountains.

Although linked to our family at House of Caradog, Caradog Cottages are independent from our hotels and restaurants. Self catering is available for light cooking, we do not offer the option of room service. Please reference our Cottage Checklist for items in each cottage (list is alphabetical), however we recommend using our variety of bars/restaurants for lunches and dinners (taxis are complimentary to The Walnut Tree plus a return trip by prior arrangement).
The cottage is stocked with breakfast items (smoked salmon, ham, Greek yoghurt, bread, butter, freshly squeezed orange juice, jams, honey, homemade granola, eggs, milk, coffee and tea), along with daily housekeeping service.

The cottage does not consist of a telephone, however there is good Wi-Fi coverage. The cottage is non-smoking. Guests are welcome to use the space outside the lodge entrance to park one car. The Angel Hotel car park or public car park, just 50 yards away, can be used for other vehicles.

Check in time is from 4pm with direct access from the keypad upon entrance into the cottages. Check out time is by 11am. We start servicing the cottages around 12pm.

Dogs are welcome at an additional charge of £15 per dog, per night.
