About Granary Cottage

Self catering in Mid Wales.

The perfect place to relax and unwind, Granary Cottage is cosy and well-equipped with panoramic views. The converted granary retains its character whilst providing modern facilities.

The cottage has a double- bedded room with ensuite bathroom with walk in shower and bath on the ground floor. A twin bedded room with ensuite bathroom with bath is on the first floor. A well-fitted kitchen with dishwasher, fridge, washing machine and microwave, has a separate dining area. Upstairs, the sitting room is airy and light with stunning views over the hills. Colour TV with Freeview, DVD player, CD/Radio. Books and Games. Gas central heating. WiFi. Outside is a small terrace that catches the morning sun. There is also a separate lawned garden with table and chairs, which again has wonderful views. Plenty of parking space outside the cottage. Dogs welcome. Babies and children 14yrs and over are welcome.

Peaceful and quiet, surrounded by our own land, yet we are only 2.5 miles from Llandrindod Wells, an attractive Victorian spa town with all the usual amenities. . An ideal base from which to explore this hidden unspoilt area of Mid Wales with its small market towns of Builth Wells, Kington, and Rhayader. Visit pretty Hay on Wye famous for its bookshops, the historic town of Brecon, surrounded by the magnificent Brecon Beacons or Hereford, home of the world famous Mappa Mundi. If you want activities, there are facilities for clay pigeon shooting, fishing, riding, rally driving within half an hours drive. If you are a golfer then Llandrindod Wells Golf Club is just five minutes away. Or just enjoy the clean air and open skies, watch the wildlife, walk, amble or sit in the garden. Wonderful walking and riding with access to miles of paths and tracks through fields and over the hills. Ty Gwyn is the perfect place to bring your horse and dog. GREAT FOR PETS:


We welcome well behaved dogs (2 maximum). . It is ideal dog walking country. Walk straight out of the cottage for walks. Lots of space around cottage to let dogs out last thing at night. Places to wash down muddy dogs. Well insulated, secure kennels if required. Ideal if hot weather and you can't leave your dog in the car when going out for the day. Dogs must be over 6 months old. Dogs are not allowed on the furniture and should not be left in the cottage unattended. 1st dog £25, 2nd dog £15 (per stay)payable on arrival

GREAT FOR WILDLIFE:

The cottage is surrounded by our own farmland which is in Glastir, an environmental scheme to improve habitat and wildlife. We have a variety of habitats, old pastures, anthills, new woodland planting and areas left rough which are managed sensitively. There are bird boxes on the farm and a bird table in the garden. We have a wide variety of birds on the farm and hares are a regular sight. Visit Radnorshire Wildlife Trust Nature Reserves and see wildlife whilst walking around the farm and up on the hills. Os maps and bird and plant books to borrow.
