This is a rare opportunity to stay in a charming detached stone cottage in secluded woodland surrounded by a managed working forest of 150 hectares of its own land. Situated in an elevated position 5.5mls by road from Maentwrog village, it enjoys magnificent mountain and valley views of Snowdonia from its picture windows. It is very comfortably furnished and a log fire gives it a warm and cosy atmosphere. Ample walks from the doorstep - this is a naturalist or artists' dream location. 40 min walk to Maentwrog and 'The Grapes', 12miles to Porthmadog and Harlech to lovely sandy beaches, golf courses, steam train rides, shops. There are excellent mountain bike trails through the forest at Coed y Brenin. Situated separately in its own grounds and own drive is 'The Woodland Barn' (our ref 5003B) which is a little one bedroomed cottage available for rent. The Barn is 100m away from the Cottage set lower down the hill. Both properties are private from one another.

Three bedrooms: One Kingsize bedroom with en-suite bathroom featuring a WC and shower over the bath, and two double bedrooms. Bed linen is provided. Please bring all your own towels and tea towels.
Two bathrooms and WC upstairs plus additional WC downstairs.
Lounge area has an open log fire and seating for 5.
Kitchen/dining area with attractive fitted units, gas hob, gas oven, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher .
Utility cupboard with a washing machine and tumble dryer.
Sitting room features comfortable seating area for 4 people, digital TV with integral DVD, CD player/radio and picture window with mountain views.
Natural grounds with some garden furniture.
Ample parking space.
Full gas central heating and underfloor heating.
Electricity, gas, and central heating included. Logs are available at £25 per week if required.

Extra: Access is up a 2.5 mile maintained forest trackway with some potholes. We recommend that low sprung cars take the route slowly. Borehole water supply to the cottage is filtered and UV treated. This cottage is in secluded woodland surrounded by a managed working forest of 150 hectares. Cottage has a steep staircase so young children need supervision.
Up to two well behaved dog will be permitted, as there might be sheep in the part of the forest belonging to the Woodland Trust.

A single £27 Booking Fee applies to all bookings and is included in the price shown. Bookings for 2 weeks will be eligible for a £27 Multi-week Saving. Please claim this in the 'Additional Information' box that appears during the booking process and we will adjust the total before deducting the money from your card.

We strongly recommend that you take our Cancellation Protection (see Terms & Conditions). This has already been selected for you when you book, so simply de-select them on the bookings screen if you already have holiday insurance or if you do not want any cover.

The Pet Charge for all properties accepting pets is £20 per pet.

No Smoking: We want all our guests to enjoy an odour free environment when they arrive at their property. We therefore prohibit smoking within the premises in ALL our properties. A 'Refreshing Charge' will be levied on guests who smoke in properties. A No Smoking Policy may form part of a property's statutory Fire Risk Assessment.

Mini-breaks & Weekends: Bookings that are for less than 7 nights are only bookable within 21 days (some properties are within a different amount of days) of the start date of the holiday. Weekend booking requests that do not start or end on a property's usual change-over day or cross over more than 1 week, are at the discretion of the property owner.
