After transforming industrial heritage sites into adrenaline‑fuelled Zip World sites in North Wales, Zip World has created two adventure attractions in South Wales.

Set within the dramatic landscape of Rhondda Cynon Taf, at the former Tower Colliery, Zip World Tower is home to four outdoor experiences, including a high-speed zip line, a winding coaster and an elevated climbing course.

At the Zip World Cardiff location, based at the iconic Principality Stadium, there's urban aerial adventure in the city, from climbing on the roof, to flying - or even 'dropping' to the ground.

Both locations offer some distinctive thrills. Explore the guide below to discover what each has to offer.

Things to do at Zip World Tower, Rhondda Cynon Taf

Phoenix is the fastest seated zip line in the world and the steepest in the Zip World range. With four lines running side by side, it’s your chance to race friends and family at speeds of up to 70mph.

The adventure begins high on Rhigos Mountain, where you’ll soar across the Llyn Fawr reservoir, taking in sweeping panoramic views as you fly towards the historic pit head. From there, the second line returns you to Tower Colliery, completing a journey of almost a mile.

If you’re not quite ready for the full thrill of Phoenix, Tower Flyer offers a shorter but no less exciting introduction. With two side-by-side lines, it’s perfect for a friendly race. Suitable for a wide range of ages, children can take part from age three when accompanied by a participating adult, or from age nine with a spectating adult. The Tower Flyer features three zip line zone - the first flight carries you 115 metres alongside the historic Tower Colliery to the second tower. From there, you’ll glide a further 80 metres to the third tower, before your final 75-metre descent back to the ground.

Set high above the ground, the Tower Climber adventure activity course is the biggest of its kind in the UK. The course is equipped with balance beams, rope bridges and platforms over 3 storeys, and features 69 coal-mining themed elements and obstacles for adult adventurers to confront. Abseil or walk the plank but be sure to take in the panoramic views of the Rhigos mountain range from the viewing deck.

Tower Coaster offers a different kind of thrill, with a two-seater ride where you control the speed as you travel along a one-kilometre track. With three rides included, there’s time to build confidence or pick up pace, navigating dips, turns and tunnels along the way.

After the thrills, Cegin Glo Bar and Bistro offers the perfect place to unwind. Here, locally sourced food and drink are served alongside sweeping views of the surrounding landscape. The outdoor patio is crafted from slate from the North West Wales landscape, part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, adding an extra connection to the area’s rich industrial heritage.

Adventure activities at Zip World at the Principality Stadium, Cardiff

Zip World Cardiff brings a different kind of adventure to the heart of the capital, set high above the iconic Principality Stadium. Rather than wide‑open landscapes, this is about experiencing one of Wales’ most recognisable landmarks in a new way - from the roof, with the energy of the city all around you.

The experience can begin with the Stadium Walk, a guided climb that takes you up onto the roof canopy, where you follow a purpose-built route around the structure, safely harnessed throughout. It’s a chance to slow the pace slightly, take in the scale of the stadium beneath your feet, and enjoy wide-reaching views across Cardiff and the surrounding landscape.

For a more fast‑paced thrill, the Stadium Flyer is all about exhilaration, sending you out across the roof canopy on a zip line. Launching from high above the stadium, you glide across the space with the city skyline stretching out around you. A brief but memorable way to see Cardiff from an entirely different perspective.

Rounding things off, the Stadium Drop will thoroughly test your head for heights. From the rooftop, you step over the edge and descend down the side of the stadium in a controlled abseil, returning to ground level with a fresh appreciation for the height and scale of the building.

All three experiences offer different ways to explore the Principality Stadium from above - whether you prefer to take it in at your own pace, add a burst of adrenaline, or finish with a challenge - all right in the centre of Cardiff.
