Open Doors

01 - 30 September. Open Doors takes place each year throughout September. The events provide people with an opportunity to take a look at some of Wales' historical buildings and sites. There are unique experiences at some venues that are not normally open to the public.

Man vs Mountain, Caernarfon

03 September 2022. Man vs Mountain is a 20 miles journey over one mountain. You’ll begin your journey at sea level from within the UNESCO World Heritage listed Caernarfon Castle before climbing steadily through the beautiful landscapes of northern Wales with some obstacles along the way. Once you’ve braved the elements and descended from the summit of Snowdon, you’ll then face the ‘All Out Vertical Kilometre’, a guided abseil, and a series of land and water based obstacles designed to test what strength remains.

 

Welsh National Rally Championship

03 September 2022. The Eventsigns Woodpecker Stages Rally takes place in Radnor Forest. The rally is one of eight exciting rounds in the 2022 Motorsport UK Pirelli Welsh National Rally Championship.

 

 

 

 

Ironman Wales, Pembrokeshire

11 September 2022. Ironman Wales is a popular annual event in the calendar in Tenby, Pembrokeshire. A 2.4 mile (3.8km) swim, a 112 mile (180km) cycle, followed by a marathon, with only 17 hours to complete it all. Just an average Sunday really...

 

Abergavenny Food Festival

18 - 19 September 2022. Abergavenny Food Festival is one of the biggest events in the UK foodie calendar. There are exhibitors from Wales and further afield. There's a rolling programme of chef demonstrations featuring the region’s finest and special masterclasses, workshops, tutored tastings and talks. There's food academy for children with hands-on workshops too.

Abergavenny Food Festival

Porthcawl Elvis Festival

23 - 25 September 2022. The Elvis Festival is a popular event in the seaside town of Porthcawl. Thousands of fans and the tribute artists attend this annual gathering of blue suede shoes, Vegas jumpsuits, and whopping sideburns. This is the largest festival of its kind in the world!

Narberth Food Festival

24 - 25 September 2022. Narberth Food Festival is a community event that is entirely volunteer-run. It won't get the biggest names, but it’s still one of the friendliest and most enjoyable food festivals around. Expect food stalls, live music, street theatre, talks and tastes, chef demonstrations and free children's activities. 

 

Sandman Triathlon, Anglesey

TBC. The Sandman Triathlon takes place through the incredible Newborough Forest. The start and finish is set in an exclusive area within the 700 hectare woods adjacent to the world famous Llanddwyn Beach. The Triathlon has something for various abilities and comprises of four distances, the Legend 72.4, Savage, Full and Sprint. You will also be able to compete as a relay team in both the full and sprint distances.

Ramblers Cymru Big Welsh Walk

TBC The Big Welsh Walk is a series of walks through Wales led by the Ramblers Cymru. The events are varied,, with short strolls for families as well as longer and more difficult walks.
