Gŵyl Fwyd Amgueddfa Cymru Food Festival

12 - 13 September 2020. St Fagans Food Festival virtual event, with a variety of activities for all age ranges, which will be broadcast via different social media platforms.

On Facebook -  Gŵyl Fwyd Amgueddfa Cymru Food Festival Facebook event - family-focused interactive ‘have a go’ events. Museum Wales Instagram - a ‘festival vibe’ aimed at 18 to 30 year-olds. On Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales Twitter page museum curators will be doing a ‘Twitter Takeover’ to highlight some of the food-related items from the museum’s collection.

Fan Dance summer series

19 - 20 September 2020. The Fan Dance is a gruelling 24km non-navigational race over two sides of Pen y Fan, the highest mountain in the Brecon Beacons. This infamous route has long been a part of SAS (Special Air Service) and SBS (Special Boat Service) selection.

19 - 20 September 2020. There will be more than 200 events on eight stages, with a line up of the world's leading thinkers, the hottest bands and comedy acts. In addition there will be a whole host of social spaces where you can meet other festival goers, chat to your friends.

Music, Poems & Pints

26 September 2020. A combination of a virtual entertainment show with plenty of interaction and Welsh banter and the chance to enjoy some delicious Welsh cheeses, beers or award-winning Welsh wine. Well-known Welsh songs such as Suo Gan and Ar Lan y Mor will bring a smile to guests’ faces, as will the poems of Max Boyce, Harri Webb and Roald Dahl. There’s no need for guests to drive anywhere or worry about social distancing, guests enjoy “Music, Poems and Pints” from the comfort of their own home. The cheeses and drinks are delivered by courier to the front door.

Man vs Mountain, Caernarfon

04 September 2021. 20 miles over 1 mountain. You’ll begin your journey at sea level from within the UNESCO World Heritage listed Caernarfon Castle before climbing steadily through the beautiful landscapes of northern Wales with some obstacles along the way. Once you’ve braved the elements and descended from the summit of Snowdon, you’ll then face the ‘All Out Vertical Kilometre’, a guided abseil, and a series of land and water based obstacles designed to test what strength remains.

25 – 26 September 2021. This community event, entirely volunteer-run, won't get the biggest names, but it’s still one of the friendliest and most enjoyable food festivals around. Expect food stalls, live music, street theatre, talks and tastes, chef demonstrations and free children's activities.

Sandman Triathlon, Anglesey

TBC The Superfeet Sandman race venue is incredible Newborough Forest, the start and finish set in an exclusive area within the 700 hectare woods adjacent to the world famous Llanddwyn Beach. 

The Superfeet Sandman Triathlon has something for all abilities and comprises of four distances, the Legend 72.4, Savage, Full and Sprint.  You will also be able to compete as a relay team in both the full and sprint distances.

TBC 2021. One of the biggest events in the UK foodie calendar, with 200 exhibitors from Wales and further afield, a food Academy for children with hands-on workshops, a rolling programme of chef demonstrations featuring the region’s finest and special masterclasses, workshops, tutored tastings and talks.

TBC 2021. This is the big one - Elvis lives, thanks to the thousands of fans and the tribute artists who attend this annual gathering of blue suede shoes, Vegas jumpsuits, and whopping sideburns in Porthcawl. This is the largest festival of its kind in the world!
