Hiking Pen Pych: Waterfalls, forests and panoramic views

After all that excitement, Chris takes us on a calming walk up Pen Pych Mountain, near Treherbert. This moderate 4km / 2.5 miles hike starts from Pen Pych Forest Car Park, and leads through pine tree woods with cascading waterfalls along the way. You'll be rewarded with fabulous views over the Rhondda Fawr Valley and towards the Rhigos Mountain, before heading back the way you came.

Highlights from Chris’s hike:

  • Waterfall trail: Follow woodland paths to discover hidden waterfalls
  • Summit views: Enjoy sweeping vistas across the Rhondda Valley and beyond.
  • Wildlife and nature: Spot native birds and wildflowers along the way.
