Families are made very welcome at Porth Tocyn, a longstanding hotel close to one of Wales’ classic seaside resorts. There's a cosy snug with TV, DVDs/videos and a games room with table tennis. High chairs, cots and listening devices are available, plus the use of a fridge and microwave for parents of younger children.

Light, bright and modern, Trefeddian Hotel is located close to the beachfront near Aberdyfi. Many of the rooms have expansive sea views. It's really suited to families - with family rooms, an indoor games room, outdoor play areas and kids' menus. The indoor swimming pool and spa bath overlook those spectacular views too.

Family friendly spa hotels in Wales are the perfect place for all the family to relax. All of these allow children in the pool with adult supervision - usually at fixed times.

Set on the banks of the river Conwy, The Quay is a haven of tranquillity. The suites work well for families with a roomy double and separate lounge with sofa bed. All offer views across to mighty Conwy Castle. The Marina Spa has a good indoor pool with set times for kids under adult supervision. Peterstone Court is a stylishly classic countryside hotel surrounded by leafy woodland. Two of the larger rooms have sofa beds ideal for younger kids. There's a nice children's menu in the restaurant and kids can use the heated outdoor pool with adult supervision. The spa is a cosy, comforting space perfect for unwinding with a relaxing massage.

Set on a headland overlooking beautiful Cardigan Bay, the Cliff Hotel has spacious and bright rooms and there are several for families with bunkbeds for younger kids and singles for older ones. Along with a 9-hole golf course, there's also a luxurious spa. Sauna, steam room and shimmering pool are all on offer. Kids are allowed in the pool with adult supervision at specific times each day.

The Park Plaza, Cardiff is perfect for exploring our bustling capital city – the castle, shops and parks are on the doorstep. Rooms are comfy and stylishly appointed and the Laguna Spa and gym offers sumptuous treatments along with a 20 metre stainless steel pool, spa bath and steam room. There are fixed times for children to use the pool with a supervising adult.
