About Gwyl Portmeirion Festival

The iconic Italian-style village of Portmeirion will host a special series of music events in summer 2026, marking 100 years since the village first opened to visitors. The Gwyl Portmeirion Festival 2026 is designed as a celebratory, cultural highlight—bringing together music, Welsh heritage, and scenic coastal atmosphere.

A Festival with Historic Significance - The 2026 edition is not just another music festival—it forms part of Portmeirion’s centenary celebrations. Originally opened in 1926, the village has become one of Wales’ most distinctive tourist destinations, known for its colourful architecture and artistic legacy.

This milestone year gives the festival added importance, positioning it as a tribute to a century of creativity, culture, and community.

Unlike traditional multi-day festivals, Gwyl Portmeirion 2026 will take place across four separate one-day events:

4 July 2026  * Squeeze * Gwenno * Melin Melyn * Band Pres Llareggub - Tickets

11 July 2026 * Bryn Terfel * Brythoniaid * Pedair * Band Pres Llareggub - Tickets

22 August 2026 * Hafwyl * Bwncath * Pys Melys * 9 Bach * Bob Delyn a'r Ebeillion * Gareth Bonell0 * Band Pres Llareggub - Tickets

Each event runs from18:00 to 23:00 at the Castell Deudraeth Fields, offering an evening concert experience in a relaxed outdoor setting.

The programme blends mainstream acts with Welsh-language artists, reflecting the cultural identity of the region.

Festival Experience - Set against woodland and estuary views, the festival offers a more intimate and scenic alternative to large-scale UK events. Visitors can expect:

  • Open-air performances in a natural landscape
  • Local Welsh food and drink stalls
  • A relaxed, evening-focused atmosphere

VIP packages are also available, offering access to exclusive lounges and dining experiences within Castell Deudraeth.

A New Chapter for Portmeirion Festivals - Portmeirion previously hosted the well-known Festival Number 6 (2012–2018), which attracted thousands of visitors each year. The 2026 festival signals a fresh approach—smaller-scale, curated events that prioritise atmosphere and heritage over size.

The Gwyl Portmeirion Festival 2026 stands out as both a cultural celebration and a commemorative event. Combining live music with one of Wales’ most picturesque locations, it offers a unique way to experience Portmeirion’s 100-year legacy.

Whether attending for the music, the setting, or the history, the festival promises an unforgettable summer highlight in North Wales.
