About Swtan Heritage Museum

Swtan (pronounced Su-tan) is a fully restored example of a 17th century Welsh cottage with a thatched roof. It is situated on the beautiful northwest coast of Anglesey, in the picturesque village of Church Bay (Porth Swtan).

 

The restoration of Swtan was masterminded by Cyfeillon Swtan/Friends of Swtan who continue to successfully run the site today as a charitable trust. As well as the Cottage, there is a well-stocked herb garden showcasing the traditional use of herbs for culinary and medicinal purposes.

 

Also open out of season for school bookings, and organised events.
