Anglesey Outdoors, Holyhead

This small residential centre, Anglesey Outdoors, hosts individuals, groups and families that are keen to come face-to-face with the great outdoors. When it comes to scaling cliffs, you can choose from a half-day or full day of climbing. Both tend to begin with bouldering before moving onto harness safety, belaying with others and climbing real courses to suit your ability.

Bach Ventures, Gwynedd

Try a gentle introduction with a half-day taster course in rock climbing with Bach Ventures, a family-run outdoor activity company that's been bringing adventures to people since 2000. If you get bitten by the climbing bug, you can move on to two-day courses that take you to more challenging clambers beyond Waunfawr and Caernarfon into wider Snowdonia.
